For many years, Colombia Solidarity Campaign activists have been attending the shareholders’ meetings of BHP, one of the London-linked multinationals which own the Cerrejon coal mine in La Guajira. The Campaign is a member group of London Mining Network, and works with other member groups to ensure that the experiences and demands of communities affected by BHP are raised at those meetings. You can read a full report about the company’s September and October shareholder gatherings, including all the questions from workers and communities affected by Cerrejon, here.
